Despite situated close to Mumbai, Aksa beach Mumbai is completely free from the hustle & bustle of busy Mumbai city. This beach is among the untouched & less crowded beaches in Maharashtra. The beach is very clean & has a rich aquatic life. You can notice many species of various snails and shells at this beach.
Aksa beach Mumbai offers amazing views, pollution free environment & peaceful atmosphere. More than 15,000 tourists visit this beach every week. It is favourite destination among college students & young couples. The beach is 27 kms away from Mumbai and among the best sightseeing spots in Mumbai. The Indian navy has its base INS Hamla at Aksa beach. Another small beach called Dana Paani Beach is just a few kilometers away from to this beach.

Aksa village is a beautiful village nestled amidst rich natural habitat. Aksa beach Mumbai has the same feel as that of beaches in Goa. Local people mostly depend on fishing business for their survival. The village has nice greenery, row houses, lots of coconut trees and even cottages for tourists. Sitting peacefully below coconut tree and enjoying amazing scenery gives you an unforgettable experience!
The beach surrounding has pleasing weather, gentle sea breeze and beautiful landscapes which make it an amazing spot to visit. One can enjoy superb sunrise & sunset views from Aksa beach Mumbai. This beach gets even more amazing during the rainy season because of its refreshing and calm atmosphere.
Food lovers can taste a variety of seafood dishes over here. Unlike other beaches in Mumbai like Juhu beach, Marine Drives or Girgaon Chowpatty this beach is not much social in the night. It is advisable not to visit this beach after 7 PM as it is isolated from the city.
Though the beauty of this beach is adorable, it is not safe for swimming or surfing activities. The beach has slippery moving sand & strong water currents at shallow depths too. Warning signs saying ‘Swimming Is Prohibited’ are placed on the beach. Some lifeguards have also been appointed on beach coast.
However accident takes place frequently due to uncertain rapidly changing tides & ignorance of people towards warnings. Many incidents of people drowning at Aksa beach Mumbai have been recorded in last few years. It is better not to swim or enter very deep inside this beach. The beach becomes much riskier during the monsoon months.
Transport: As the beach is very near to Mumbai city, one can easily reach here via different modes. Travelling by train is the most convenient way to reach Aksa beach.
- Nearest Railway Station: One can reach this beach from Malad, Borivali & Andheri railway stations. This beach is situated at a distance of 9 kms from Malad west railway station & 12 kms from Borivali railway station. You can take BEST buses or auto rickshaws up to Madh Island from a station. The beach can also be reached from Andheri railway station by BEST buses.
