It is a famous 6 kms long serene & virgin beach located in Shrivardhan taluka of Raigad district in Maharashtra. This beach is said to be the safest beach on entire Maharashtra coast. Beach lies on the Arabian sea coast and has great natural beauty. Diveagar beach is very wide, clean and not much sandy. The long stretch of beach is covered by beautiful Casuarina trees which add more beauty to the beach surrounding. Suvarna Ganesh Temple
Diveagar Ganpati temple is a popular site nearby Diveagar beach area. Earlier, there was a golden idol of lord Ganesha. This ancient idol of Peshwe era along with few ornaments was found in one farm. Shrimati Draupadi Dharma Patil found these things on 17th November 1997 while working in coconut and bettlenut garden. All things along with idol were packed in a copper trunk of 30 kg with an inscription of 1060 AD.
However, the idol was stolen by thieves on 25 March 2012. The thieves killed the two watchmen during this theft. After that, the idol then is replaced by Silver idol. You can see coconut and bettle nut tree farming which is a major local business over here. Diveagar beach is a perfect weekend getaway away from your hectic & busy lifestyle.
