Dr. HD Sankalia and Dr. MG Dikshit from Pune were chosen to do the work of excavations on a Brahmagiri mountain. After their lot of hard work, many ancient objects were discovered in this mountain. The number of objects was so huge that it was essential to preserve them in a safe and proper place.

So several attempts were done to store those artifacts in a good place like one Jain Ashram and Home of Dr. HD Sankalia. But space was not enough for them so eventually, this building was built!
