It is a 3 km long & six lane road situated in south Mumbai area along the coast of the Arabian sea. This is a c-shaped road that joins Nariman point to Babulnath. Marine drive road is officially known as Netaji Subhashchandra Bose RoadA large number of local as well as foreign tourists visit this place to enjoy the scenic beauty & soothing sea breeze. A large number of tetrapods are there along the sea coast of Marine drive Mumbai. These are big 4-legged grayish concrete structures binding themselves to one another. Nearly 6,500 tetrapods are there each of them weighs about two tons. Due to their shape, they form an interlocking pattern to form a porous boundary. The main purpose of placing these tetrapods was to resist the force of sea tides and not allow them to enter into the city.

Marine Drive is also known as Queen’s Necklace because when viewed at night from the height, this road looks like a string of pearls & create an illusion of a necklace. This place is very clean & walking on the footpath adjacent to the sea gives you an amazing experience.
